Provence Factoriz

Although rice is associated with Asian culture, it is nonetheless the emblematic cereal of the Camargue .

Born in southern China 8,200 years ago, rice cultivation appeared in Provence at the end of the 13th century, prized by followers of "blancheur," the gluten-free diet of the time.

Taking advantage of a privileged climate, with low temperature variations, bathed in beautiful light and a beneficial mistral, rice is becoming an essential crop in the Camargue.

Cultivated by people who respect their environment , it helps maintain a low level of salinity in the soil, essential for the survival of the Camargue ecosystem .

To recognize the good practices of Camargue rice growers, Camargue rice is now protected by a PGI which certifies its origin but above all its quality.
