I started beekeeping after my retirement in July 2014, when my work colleagues (MICHELIN) detected my interest in this wonderful world by offering me 2 hives and all the individual equipment as a farewell gift. But I only really started in 2015, firstly by following the training provided by the "ABEILLE LORRAINE" union in collaboration with CETA, then by purchasing 2 swarms in April.
I practice respectful beekeeping, rather extensive, but I have been able to see my flock grow thanks to the "harvesting" of natural swarms from my hives. Today I have 30 colonies, half of which are located near my home and half on preserved family land in the Vosges at the foot of the fir forest.
I have so far sold my production to my network of acquaintances, my honeys are appreciated and the feedback is glowing.
